How To Get Foundation Out Of Mattress Sheets & Pillowcases?

One main thing to note is that different types of foundations make the cleaning process a little bit harder. Here’s what you need to know.

If your foundation is oil-based, you’ll have a much better time cleaning it off your pillowcase. Many of the items we mentioned have grease-fighting properties, making it much easier to remove makeup from your bedding.

Step By Step Guide To Removing Foundation of Sheets:

Step 1: Remove your bed sheets or pillowcase from your mattress as soon as possible.

Step 2: Lay your sheets or pillowcase on a hard surface, like your dinner table or work desk.

Step 3: Gently scrape off the foundation using a spoon or butter knife, being careful not to damage the fabric of your sheets.

Step 4: Combine a few drops of gentle, grease-fighting dish soap with 2-3 cups of water, and mix well.

Step 5: Dampen a microfibre cloth in the cleaning solution, then gently blot at the makeup stain until it starts to lift away from the fabric. Reapply more cleaning solutions as needed, but do not scrub too harshly, or you may risk damaging your pillowcase.

Step 6: Put your pillowcase and bedding in the washing machine with a powerful stain removing laundry detergent. You can pre-soak them if you wish, as this may be part of the detergent instructions.

Step 7: Air dry your pillowcase and bedding. We always recommend sun-drying!

Step 8: Repeat all the steps as necessary until the foundation is removed.

How To Get Mascara Out Of Pillowcases & Mattresses?

If you’re struggling to remove mascara stains from your pillowcases and mattress, you can try a few things.

Step 1: First, start by scraping away as much of the mascara as possible using a butter knife or spoon. If it’s on a mattress or pillow sheet, it’s worth taking it off beforehand.

Step 2: Once this is done, mix 2-3 cups of water with some gentle, grease-fighting dish soap such as Fairy Liquid and dab at the stain with a soft, damp microfibre cloth. You may need to repeat this step several times until the stain has lifted completely.

If the mascara doesn’t respond well to water alone, you can also try using shaving cream or baking soda to help break down the stain.

Step 3: Simply apply either one of these products directly onto the makeup stain and gently work it in using a soft cloth or your fingers. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes if it’s the shaving cream and as many hours as possible for the baking soda technique.

Step 4: Once done, blot with a damp cloth and then use a vacuum to get all those pesky stains and dirt from your mattress.
