How to make the most of your annual leave in 2021

We may still be in the depths of winter, but that doesn’t mean we can’t start planning our annual leave and making the most of Bank Holidays. While we don’t know whether we’ll be able to spend time abroad or even be able to catch up with our nearest and dearest, we can still take some much need time off work. We’re here to show you how you can make the most of your annual leave and the best ways you can fill your days!

Easter

If you take these eight days off in March and April, you’ll be rewarded with a 16 day holiday! You need to take off March 29, 30, and 31, and April 1, 6, 7, 8, and 9 – and you’ll also enjoy the Bank Holidays of April 2 and 5 in the middle.

This long holiday is perfect for getting the garden sorted for those long summer days. And don’t forget to order an Easter Egg delivery for the all-important Easter Egg Hunt!

May half-term

Whether we’re still home-schooling or we’re back to some sort of normal, May half-term is the last time before summer that we can really make our annual leave go further. By booking off the 4, 5, 6, and 7 of May, you can turn four day leave into nine, thanks to the Bank Holiday on May 3.

May holidays are perfect for picnics in the park and many stately homes have plenty going on for May half-term activities, including crafts, traditional games, as well as treasure hunts.

Summer holidays

The summer is the ideal time to switch off, and you too can maximise your annual leave thanks to two Bank holidays! The first one falls on August 2, so booking the 3, 4, 5, and 6 off will give you 9 days holiday. If you’re hoping to go abroad for the summer holidays, saving your annual leave for the end of August could help you land a cheaper package. With the Bank Holiday falling on August 30, you can take off August 31, as well as September 1, 2, and 3, turning four days into another nine-day break.

Christmas time

We’ve been gifted another great Christmas calendar this year. Because Christmas Day and Boxing Day land on a weekend, the substitute holidays take place on Monday 27 and Tuesday 28, meaning you only have to book off the 29, 30, and 31 to enjoy a whopping ten day holiday.
