What is a Makeup Foundation?

Makeup foundation is a multi-colored cosmetic we apply to our face to achieve an even complexion, cover flaws, and, in some cases, alter our natural skin tone.

What Causes Acne?

Acne occurs when follicles and pores become clogged with excess oil, dead skin cells, and other impurities. The primary factors behind its development are:

  • Excess oil production by the sebum glands
  • Clogged follicles and pores due to debris and impurities
  • Bacteria
  • Excess activity of hormones

We can observe several forms of acne, such as whiteheads, blackheads, and pimples, which are raised red spots with a white center that develop when blocked pores and follicles become inflamed or infected.

There are additional factors that can worsen acne, including:

  • Androgens: Hormones that increase during puberty and cause the sebaceous glands to enlarge and produce more sebum
  • Hormonal changes related to pregnancy and use of oral contraceptives
  • Certain medications, like corticosteroids and testosterone
  • Diet, specifically consuming skim milk and foods rich in carbs

Acne symptoms vary depending on the severity of the condition, but they typically include:

  • Whiteheads: Closed clogged pores
  • Blackheads: Open clogged pores
  • Small red and tender bumps
  • Pimples
  • Large, painful lumps beneath the skin’s surface
  • Painful, pus-filled lumps beneath the skin’s surface

It’s essential to start acne treatment early to prevent emotional distress, lower self-esteem, and reduce the chances for acne scars and hyperpigmentation.

  4. Apply the mask daily using a brush in circular motions on the face.
